Little Box, Big Miracle

After church today we went to the Dollar Tree and filled shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. The boys filled their boxes with; bubbles, fun socks, stationary and markers, games, magic wash cloths, cars, a sock monkey, and of course some candy. They were so proud and told everyone shopping in the store that it only costs $7 to ship a box around the world and into the hands of a child who probably won't get any other toys for the entire year. It is a good reminder to them of just how blessed they are while they are flipping through toy catalogs and picking out things for their wish lists.
  1. Skittles learned about the 4 branches of the military in Trail Life. Then they met a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.
  2. Twizzler learned about bicycle safety. Then the kids all went on a ride around the parking lot with their leader. They used all the proper hand signals.
  3. Hershey brought me a book and said, "Read me." We read, "How Do Dinosaurs Count to Ten" about 3 times... It is his favorite book right now. He likes to name the toys in the pictures, "boon" (balloon), "truck, ball, block, sock, and choo-choo" Truck, block, and sock all sound the same.
