- Today the kids
destroyed the houseplayed inside all morning. - We were invited to try a break dance class this afternoon. Skittles and Twizzler got to try it out. They learned some really cool moves. After the class the instructor told me that Skittles is a natural and he hopes they liked it and I will bring them back.
- Then we went for a bike ride. Skittles got a new bike for his birthday yesterday. He was dying to take it out for a spin. He looks so grown up on a big bike.
- I went to my bible study tonight. We discussed Moses and the ten commandments. We compared them to the rules of the road. Those rules were not made to oppress us, they were made to keep us safe. The same goes with the ten commandments. God gave us those rules to keep us safe, safe from pain, broken hearts, and eternal separation from our creator.
- The boys each worked on their Awana books before bed.

Dear Deer,
I have not been doing much school work with Hershey this week. All the school work that we had been doing was mostly initiated by him. Lately he has not seemed interested in coloring or working puzzles. We have been reading lots of books every day though.
- Skittles language lesson was to copy another stanza of his poem. Twizzler copied the months, September, October, November, and December.
- Both boys got 100% in math.
- They did a great job writing.
- In history we read about what happened after Joseph was reunited with his brothers in Egypt. The boys wrote about the years of famine.
- Today in spelling, when the boys got a word wrong during their oral review, I had them copy the word correctly. Charlotte Mason said children need to see the word written correctly in order to memorize it. There are many learning styles though. If they copy it themselves, they are seeing it correctly spelled, they are writing it out them selves, and then I have them read it out loud to me. so they are saying and hearing the correct spelling.
- In science the boys followed instruction on how to draw a deer.
- In reading Skittles read chapter 8 of the Phantom Menace and narrated to me how Anakin saved Jar-Jar from Sebulba and then escorted them all to his house when a sand storm kicked up. Gunnar read a few more pages of his Star Wars book. His narration made me giggle.
"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, Today in the story the pirate gang that always stole treasure from ships. And their leader was called Hondo and he had a big spaceship with a big symbol that was a big red symbol. After they did that, they brought Anakin and Ob-wan to their base. They like to play games and dance on the table."
- Finally Skittles wrote about a party he witnessed this weekend for Awana. and Twizzler memorized a few verses for his book.

PARKOUR!!!!!!
Last night there was an insane rainstorm. Most of the city streets and yards are flooded. The park where we usually have park day was closed due to flooding. Luckily we had a back up plan. We heard about a place that offers parkour classes to kids. My kids have been yelling "PARKOUR!" and jumping around the furniture for months because they saw it on a Minecraft video. It reminds me of an episode of the Office. Basically parkour is finding creative ways to get around from place to place. They are going to learn a lot of gymnastics flips and moves. Today was the first day and we were a bit late due to car trouble but they had a fantastic time and can't wait to go back.
- In language lessons, Skittles added the punctuation to a story. Twizzler wrote out the days of the week in order.
- Hershey colored a picture of grapes purple.
- In math, Skittles reviewed multiplication again and got a 100% Twizzler took his first quiz for this disc and got a 91%.
- In writing Twizzler has learned how to write all of the letters of the alphabet in cursive so today, he wrote some words and practiced the capital letters A-L.
- We read about Joseph in history. We talked about his relationship with his brothers and what happened as a result. In their journals, they wrote about how Jacob tricked his father to receive a blessing. Then how he was tricked on his wedding day. And then they wrote about how Joseph's brothers treated him.
- We practiced the spelling words and the boys copied their sentences.
- In science we had an experiment to do. We learned how the wind makes waves and causes water currents. We filled a baking dish with water and then put a couple drops of food coloring in one end. Then the boys took turns blowing across the top of the water and watching the coloring move until it was finally all mixed up.
- Skittles read about when the star ship the Jedi were on had a leak in their hyper drive. SIGH. It closely mirrored our car problems today. Thankfully I did not get stuck on Tattooine, Twizzler read about Ashoka returning Jabba's son to him. He was very relieved.
- And then tonight we practiced our Awana books on the way to church.
