Mine!

  1. We learned about a school teacher who was kind to his students and wrote letters opposing slavery and the poor treatment of Native Indians.
  2. We also talked about how, why, and when our family moved to the United States. We have some family that has been here since before the American Revolution but most recently, my great grandparents came to America from Sweden. We discussed why people from different cultures would sometimes settle in the same area of the US. We talked about traditions that they carry over to this country. I did not have much info to share about Swedish culture but their aunt only moved to America from England 6 years ago so she was able to share a bit more about her culture and traditions.
  3. We read about John Audubon's childhood pets. He had a parrot and a monkey. The monkey killed the bird and John wanted to have it stuffed... hmmmmm... Lovely children's story. LOL.
  4. They did well in spelling, English, reading, writing, and math.
  5. Twizzler is learning about subtraction puzzles. We used counting bears to make the puzzles.
  6. Hershey is having a ball playing with his cousins. He and his other 1 year old cousin are learning to share. A tough lesson for any toddler.
  7. Skittles read about how to build a snow fort. He said he already knew how to build a snow fort because he lived in Rhode Island before.
  8. After school we went for a walk on the beach. It was a beautiful afternoon. We got to see some jellyfish washed on shore.
