Park Day

  1. I love park day because it motivates us all to get as much school work done before lunch as we can.
  2. In history we read about Ben Franklin's kite experiment.
  3. In science we read some more about John Audubon and then experimented with the different ways that birds fly. All 3 boys flapped, glided, soared, fluttered, and hovered all around the living room.
  4. In English they had a review. Twizzler did a fantastic job. He can give me the answers orally all the time. Then I have him write out a few of them.
  5. One of their vocabulary words was "sloop." Twizzler wrote, "A sloop is coming to the bay." for his sentence. Skittles wrote, "My mom sailed a sloop." That makes me smile. That is one of my fondest childhood memories. I got to sail a real continental sloop one summer.
  6. Hershey sat and listened to all of our readings today as always. Tonight he sat on my floor flipping through a book saying, "Oh WOW!" and pointing to all of the pictures.
