Roy G. Biv

  • Both boys copied part of their poems in Language Lessons.
  • Both boys got a 95% in math again today.
  • Hershey colored a bird blue.
  • In history we read about the actual flood. Water came up from the ground and down from the sky. We read that everyone must have been terrified. Only Noah and his family were safe. They must have been scared too. Their only solace would have been that the flood happened as God had promised so he must keep them safe also as promised. Then we read about how the ark came to land on a mountain top. The boys drew a rainbow in their journals. We talked about the colors of a rainbow and their order.
  • Twizzler learned how to make the letters B and b in cursive. He made his b's very well the first time but the B's took some practice.
  • In science we did some research on granite. We found out how granite is formed, what it looks like and how it is used on Geology.com. Then they sketched what granite looks like and is used for in their journal pages. Then this evening while we were driving Skittles pointed out some granite poles that line a trendy part of town. Later at a friend's house, he noticed that they have granite tile in their bathroom.
  • Spelling was tough today. They both struggled with the dictation. Ultimately I ended up letting them copy the sentences and write the words they misspelled a few more times.
  • Hershey brought Skittles his Noah's Ark book to read. I love seeing my boys read together. Hershey is learning the name Noah and at least beginning to associate him with the ark and animals.
